LENTEN SEASON

Lenten Services & Easter Sunday

Lent is a time of repentance, fasting and preparation for the coming of Easter. It is a time of self-examination and reflection before welcoming in the Easter Season, the most joyous and celebrative season of the Christian year. We celebrate the good news that in Christ’s death and resurrection we, and all creation, are continually being made new by God’s love and saving grace.

We hope you will join Newnan First United Methodist Church for worship, fellowship, and service during the lenten season.

GIVE IT UP FOR LENT

We are asking everyone to donate $40, representing the 40 days of Lent. You can give cash or checks to the Church Office or place in the offering plate on Sundays, or give online. Just be sure to note it is for GIUFL.

Our goal is $12,000. Last year’s goal was $11,00 and we donated $12,000!

FLOWER THE CROSS

On Easter morning, we invite everyone to bring their blooms to flower the cross outside our Sanctuary doors.

This tradition is a favorite among congregants, providing not only a beautiful place for family photos but also a visual representation of life renewed.

LILY DEDICATIONS

All are welcome to dedicate a lily in honor or memory of a loved one. These are displayed throughout the Sanctuary and Narthex during Easter worship. You may take home your purchased lily after the 11am service ends on Easter Sunday.

Pricing & Purchasing Available Feb. 2026
