• NFUMC Church Council approved a statement to be released to the congregation regarding issues in the United Methodist Church. To view that statement, click HERE.

June 1, 2021

• NFUMC Church Council Education Committee distributed the statement to the congregation through the monthly Shepherd newsletter and a mass mailing to the membership.

• A Questionnaire was provided at newnanfumc.org/umc411 to gather questions from the congregation for future discussions.

June 14, 2021

• The first episode of our UMC 101 videos was published through our YouTube Channel and sent out using our Constant Contact email listing. To join this list, visit "EMAIL LIST" under Media in our menu.

Summer 2021

• A series of Methodist 101 videos will be released to educate the congregation about the legislative body of the UMC and about the process that led to the  church council statement.

July 11, 2021 

• The congregation is invited to the first of a series of forums to discuss the church's statement and the questions gathered to date. This meeting will take place during the Sunday School hour in the Parish Hall (9:45-10:45).

September 14, 2021 @ 7 pm in the Sanctuary (new location)

• First Town Hall to begin to answer your questions. This meeting will be on the subjects of the discipline and trust clause, what disaffiliation currently looks like, what it might look like with the protocol, what the protocol says in general, and how do bishops work?

November 14th @ 2pm | Sanctuary

• Second Town Hall to begin to answer your questions. The subject of this meeting will be the theology of sexuality. This presentation is based on the questions you submitted on the questionnaire.
